Testing TwonkyMedia Using Cidero

Cidero calls their creation the Cidero UPnP Media Controller. It doesn't actually play music or other media, but it does let you interact with TwonkyMedia's database and your music library if you've copied some files to the drive.

Download their latest version of this application and UnZip/Extract it to a convenient folder. There is no installation program; uninstalling it consists of deleting that same folder.

Note that Cidero requires Java version 1.5 or later be already installed on your system.

To run Cidero double-click on the MediaController batch file shown below.

You'll see a Windows Command Prompt window open.

And over that will appear Cidero's GUI in another window. Just click on the Media Server (I named mine NAS) and the TwonkyMedia folder structure will appear.

Cool, huh?

Enjoy!

After adding a Roku SoundBridge to my network I discoverd something interesting: Cidero sees it and lets me play tunes through the SoundBridge, even when the SoundBridge is "off" (aka. standby mode).
